ChemLab
With
this virtual laboratory, you can run experiments without fear of
chemical burns or glass breakage. ChemLab comes with seven preloaded
experiments, as well as a free-form mode. The Introduction and Procedure
tabs in the left-hand window tell you what the experiment proves and
how to perform it.
The Observations
tab lets you record your data. The interface provides buttons for the
most common pieces of equipment and chemicals, but we preferred using
the right-click context menu. You can save your work as LAB files to
reopen later. Printing will print the Observations tab and the main
experiment window. The Lab wizard lets you build your own experiments by
setting the chemicals, reactions, and expected outcomes. It takes a lot
of chemistry knowledge to build your own experiment, and we had to
refer to the help file to figure out how to perform certain actions
during the preloaded experiments.

Periodic Table And Chemical Solutions Calculator
This freeware application
lives up to its name by letting you compute complex scientific
equations dealing with elements. The rather bland-looking interface is
divided into tabs for mass and concentration computations, with fields
for data such as molar mass and volume of solution. The utility includes
a periodic table for reference,
and when you click an element, it will automatically add its data to
the selected field. Beyond that, however, you won't find many
customization options or bells and whistles. Chemistry teachers and scientists will find this freebie useful, but it's obviously not for your average Joe
Physical Chemistry
The program takes advantage of multimedia technology to present teachers and students with a new way of approaching and understanding the challenging concepts and ideas found in Physical Chemistry. User-friendly interface allows easy navigation. Flexible plotting, drag & drop and other interactive exercises, hundreds of 3-D visual demonstrations, movies, animations and sound effects, many concise voice comments help to emphasize key concepts, over 200 hours of study material on each CD compiled by renowned McGill professor Dr. Bryan Sanctuary are available. This version is the first release on CNET Download.com.

Atoms, Symbols and Equations
Atoms, Symbols, and Equations is a multimedia chemistry tutor for Windows
that tests students as they learn. Skills are taught through familiar
examples to help reinforce general chemical knowledge. Topics covered
include elements, symbols, the periodic table, chemical formulas, writing and balancing equations, atomic structure, and ion formation.
Version 3.0 features improved interface, fully 32 bit programming, improved printing facilities, improved help.
